The presence of a Lava dome is not really a good indication of danger.

Many inactive volcanoes still have a lava dome. If a lava dome is present on an active volcano, and it is growing, it could signify a build up before an eruption.

What Bulbous masses associated with volcanoes that extrude highly viscous material are called?

bulbous masses are associated with lava domes

What are types of valcano?

The main types of volcanoes are shield volcanoes, stratovolcanoes (composite volcanoes), cinder cone volcanoes, and lava domes. Shield volcanoes have gentle slopes and are formed by fluid lava flows. Stratovolcanoes are tall, steep-sided cones composed of layers of lava and ash. Cinder cone volcanoes are small, steep-sided cones made of pyroclastic material. Lava domes are mounds of thick, slow-flowing lava piling up near a volcano's vent.

How many volcanoes are there in Afghanistan?

There are two volcanoes in Afghanistan. Dacht-i-Navar is a volcano group with 15 lava domes, located southwest of Kabul. The Vakak Group is located WSW of Kabul, and consists of 18 domes.

What are landscape features associated with volcanoes?

Landscape features associated with volcanoes include volcanic cones, calderas, lava fields, ash clouds, and lava domes. These features are formed as a result of volcanic eruptions, lava flows, and volcanic ash deposits. Volcanoes can shape the surrounding landscape dramatically, creating unique landforms and topography.

What are the different types of volcanoe?

Volcanoes are grouped into four types: cinder cones, composite volcanoes, shield volcanoes and lava volcanoes. They are: Cinder Cones: They are circular or oval cones made up of small fragments of lava from a single vent. They have been blown into the air, cooled, and fallen around the vent. Composite: They are steel-sides and composed of many layers of volcanic rocks. Mt. Rainier and Mount St. Helens are examples of this type of volcano. Shield: Shaped like a bowl or shield in the middle, they have long gentle slopes made of basaltic lava flows. The volcanoes that formed the basalt of the Columbia Plateau were shield volcanoes. Lava Volcanoes: Deep sided mound formed by lava that is too thick to flow. The lava piles up near the vent.

Is lava dome a type of volcano?

Not exactly. Some volcanoes do consist of simply a lava dome, but most lava domes are found in or on stratovolcanoes.

What are some interesting fatcs about volcanoes?
