The heating coil becomes red hot and then white hot due to the temperature increase as electrical current passes through it. When the coil heats up, it first emits visible red light as it reaches higher temperatures, indicating it's glowing due to incandescence. As the temperature rises further, it emits light in the blue and violet spectrum, making it appear white hot. The color change reflects the coil's increasing thermal energy and the wavelengths of light it emits.

Can resistors keep a magnetic coil from heating?

Hi, Not really. All they can do is limit the voltage and current going into the coil. The heat is a byproduct of the `transformer action` and all coils will heat up some. If you're giving it too much voltage, a resistor could help to bring the heat level down to an acceptable level if it's running too hot. If you're using DC for your magnetic coil, take the available voltage, then subtract the operating voltage of the coil and divide that by the current of the coil, which will then give you the value of the resistor you need. Example: 12 volts (available) - minus coil voltage, divided by the coil's current in milliamps (or amps), which equals the value of resistor in ohms. As for the power rating of the resistor (in watts) just multiply the available voltage times the current of the coil, giving you a rating in watts, and then pick a resistor with at least that much power handling capability or go a size larger if you wish. (This isn't the exact formula, but it's close enough to take care of your needs, I think.) Hope this helps, Cubby

Is iron magnetic after heating it?

That depends on how hot it was heated.

How does the white wire on an outlet become hot?

a shorted out outlet can cause a backfeed on the white wire, an open circuit on the white wire with and electrical appliance plugged in to an outlet can cause the same type of backfeed

Definition for hot plate?

The definition for hot plate has to be a heated plate that is hot because it has been in a heating device .The heating device being an oven or even a microwave .A hot plate also helps keep food warm by itself being hot.If talking about a serving hot plate then a hot plate helps keep food warm or cooking by itself being hot , heated by candle flames or electricity , it is a great accessory for dining.

Where is the heating coil in a Maytag dryer?

In a Maytag dryer, the heating coil is typically located in the back of the appliance, near the blower housing. It is housed within a heating element assembly that is responsible for generating hot air to dry the clothes. Accessing the heating coil usually requires removing the back panel of the dryer. Always ensure the dryer is unplugged before attempting any repairs or inspections.

How does a tankless hot water heater work?

The heating element whether it be electric or gas is located close to the faucet so that the water flows through and is heated on its way to the faucet therefore you need a separate unit for each sink. Above answer is called a "on demand unit", a tankless coil for a hot water boiler uses a spiral coil of copper that is bolted into your boiler, with the hot combustion gases heatintg the coil of copper that has the domestic cold water flowing thru it, heating the cold water into hot water as it travels to your faucets.

Is heating an adjective?

No. It is the present participle of the verb to heat, and may be a verb form or a noun (gerund). In compound nouns such as heating coil and heating system, it is acting as a noun adjunct.

What is a hot water heating system?

A solar hot water heating system is a method of supplementing the heating of hot water. The system uses either flat plate collectors or evacuated tube collector to harness the radiation from the sun to heat a fluid circulating through the collectors and subsequently an additional low level coil in a hot water storage vessel. This form of heating hot water must be supplemented by an additional heat source to ensure the hot water temperature is raised sufficiently to reduce the risk of bacterial growth within the hot water storage vessel. In the UK, solar hot water heating can provide on avaerage around 50-60% of the total hot water heating requirement when averaged over the course of a year.

What happens inside a convector heater?

A convection heater works on the principle of air convection currents circulating through its body and across its heating element. Heating element heats up the air, causing it to increase in volume and become buoyant. A convection heater can have an electrical heater element, a hot water coil, or a steam coil.

Why is the cooling coil of the refrigerator placed near the top of its cabinet?

It isn't always, but the advantage of putting it there is that heat (hot air) rises. You'ld rather not have that hot air heating up the body of the refrigerator.

Where to connect hot water supply and return in a re heat single row coil system?

The typical piping configuration on a single row heating coil is to pipe the entering water (hot) to the bottom row and out the top, this ensures the trapped air gets purged and eliminates aeration.
