There are a number of reasons. The key to it is that Earth has a substantial atmosphere while Mercury does not. Earth's atmosphere allows presence of liquid water, which in turn allows Earth to support life. Wind, water, and life are important forces in eroding and, in some cases, building Earth's surface features. Water also works its way into Earth's mantle, turning part of it into the sof asthenosphere, which no other known planet has. This, and Earth's hotter interior allows for plate tectonics, which slowly but continuously reshape Earth's surface. So Earth's surface ins constantly subjected to continuous change as old features are destroyed and new ones arise.
Mercury has none of these traits, and its only substantial surface features are impact craters. With no active forces at work on Mercury, these craters will remain unaltered for billions of years.
Both mercury and mars have a gravity which is around 38% of earths. Mercury's gravity is 37.8% of earths, Mars' gravity is 37.7% of earths.
Mercury resembles the Earth's moon in terms of its heavily cratered surface, lack of atmosphere, and extreme temperature variations between its day and night sides. Both objects are rocky bodies and have been heavily bombarded by impacts over their history.
There are almost no extrusive rocks on the earths surface because they are all under the earths surface. They are mainly lower than the earths surface.
It isn't, it's a little bit bigger than the moon. It is the second smallest planet, if you count Pluto

It doesnt effect the earths surface, it affects the the earth surface by expanding cracks in the ground.

The planet Mercury has the most similar cratered surface compared to the moon.
while earths surface is smooth or rocky or filled with water, mercurys surface is made out of cotton candy, the clouds on mercury are fuzz balls and the water is coors light. mercury is awesome, earth sucks ._. creepy face
Mercury has an average surface temperature (67°) closest to the Earths average surface temperature (14°C). The temperature on Mercury varies a lot though - you could argue that Mars is closer in temperature.
How is Mercury's density is about high as the earths density

70% or 80% of water covers the earths surface
