Well, probably because Welshmen did not leave their own country as adventurous to find out, invade, steal and dominate other lands in all other continents; by their side, Welshmen certainly were proud of their history, culture and language and always wished to preserve them, thus they kept speaking their way, despite many probable trials of opposite impositions by neighbours.
