Ear fluttering can be caused by a variety of factors, including muscle spasms in the middle ear, known as myoclonus, or a condition called tinnitus, which involves ringing or other sounds in the ears. It may also result from stress, fatigue, or exposure to loud noises. If the fluttering persists or is accompanied by pain, hearing loss, or other concerning symptoms, it's advisable to consult a healthcare professional for a proper diagnosis and treatment.
The middle ear, outer ear, and inner ear are the three parts of the ear.
the ear
The outer ear is the main region of the human ear that contains the ear canal. This part of the ear is responsible for collecting and funneling sound waves into the ear canal, which leads to the eardrum.
Outer ear
External ear contains ear canal.
Your ear rumbling could be caused by a muscle in your ear called the tensor tympani muscle contracting involuntarily. This can happen due to stress, fatigue, or exposure to loud noises. It is a common and harmless occurrence known as ear rumbling or ear fluttering.

what is the fluttering under my left breast
I had a fluttering in my ear for several days. My doctor said it was a muscle spasm, and that I should wait a week, to see if it went away. That gave me an idea. I usually have about 4 cups of coffee day. I cut out all caffeine except for a small cup of tea in the morning. The fluttering diminished, and by the fourth day it was gone. Fluttering in the ear may be also due to a diet with too much Omega-6 in it. I kept noticing that whenever I ate starchy foods or foods that with sugar in them my left ear would flutter but whenever I cut out these foods, the flutter would go away. Then I realized it was likely that I was eating too many foods that with Omega-6--foods that were simply causing my body to swell. Omega-6 is known to cause inflammation in the body, and ear fluttering, particularly ear infections, are created by swelling within the ear. Cut out or reduce starchy foods, bad cooking oils and eat a diet consisting of (organic) vegetables, fruits and lean meats. Test it out for a few days by eating a diet without complex carbs (i.e. starchy foods) and see if the ear fluttering goes away. The best cooking oils to use are organic extra virgin coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil and raw butter. Toss out the margarine--it's bad for your health. If the ear fluttering goes away, introduce a small amount of healthy unprocessed complex carbs (i.e. brown rice, sweet potatoes, etc.) back into your diet slowly. Remember, to keep an eye out for oils which are known to have Omega-6 in them. Also opt for organic eggs which have Omega-3s and avoid non-organic eggs which are known for having Omega-6s in them.
