nitrogen gas is formed when two nitrogen atoms bond together...thus resulting in atriple bond between the nitrogen atoms. these triple bonds together have a very high bond enthalpy(energy needed to break bonds). so the energy needed to break the bonds is very high. since chemical reactions occur on the basis that bonds need to be broken for new bonds to form....the nitrogen molecule does not react readily under normal circumstances. it was once considered an inert gas before the discovery of the Born-Haber process...as a result of its natural "unreactivity". hence a lot of energy has to be given to the nitrogen molecules for them to dissociate and become atoms .. so that they can react- the central idea behind the Born-haber process. Nitrogen is reactive. But not very reactive because of the amount of electrons it has.

How do you know that nitrogen is reactive?

no it is not reactive

Is a nitrogen reactive or stable?

Nitrogen is reactive because it does not have 8 valence electrons.

Is nitrogen highly reactive?

Nitrogen is not highly reactive under normal conditions. It is a relatively inert gas, making up about 78% of Earth's atmosphere in the form of diatomic nitrogen (N2). It typically requires high temperatures or pressures to react with other elements.

Is nitrogen more reactive than arsenic?

No, arsenic is more reactive than nitrogen. Arsenic belongs to Group 15 elements in the periodic table which are more reactive compared to nitrogen, which is a relatively inert gas.

How is nitrogen made reactive?

Why do you say nitrogen is not reactive if inert gases are not reactive?

Nitrogen Is Uncreative beacuase of the triple bond between 2 nitrogen atom, which have a bond enthalpy of 945kjmol-1,and this result for a fewer reactions of nitrogen.

Is nitrogen more reactive than oxygen?

No, oxygen is more reactive than nitrogen. Oxygen readily forms compounds with other elements, while nitrogen is relatively inert under most conditions.
