A coastline is important because it acts like a barrier to where we live and the sea starts and finishes. Coastal Defence protects our chalk cliffs because some cliffs aren't stable if they have roads on top of them. Also like on Kings gate Bay (edge of Thanet) has grass at the bottom of the cliffs to keep them stable. :)
