The lines of latitude represent degrees of arc being 111 kilometers per degree on the Earths surface. (111111.111 meters). That is how the meter was defined.

Lines of longutude have this size on the equator but the lines converge at the poles where the distance between them becomes zero.

So on maps, you will see that the distance of lines of latitude are always the same but those of longitude are smaller as distance increases away fro the equator.

What is used to locate places on earth's surface?

A Map, in one one of these different types of projections: Mercator, Gnomonic, and Polyconic. Mercator - Shows the whole world except for the poles. Gnomonic - A circle projection showing, most often, the poles but sometimes other small places of the earth. Polyconic - Made as if a cone of paper had been wrapped around the earth, often used for places in the middle latitudes, such as the United States.

What is represented by a single point on a curved line in a distance time graph showing accelerated motion?

instantaneous acceleration* * * * *No it does not.The graph is a distance-time graph so the coordinates of a point on the graph represent the position (distance) at the specified time. The gradient of the tangent to the curve at that point represents the instantaneous radial velocity. The second derivative at that point, if it exists, would represent the acceleration.

Why is your sundial inaccurate in the morning and very accurate in the afternoon?

If the sundial is correctly aligned (at Polaris) with a nomon angled to the same amount as your latitude. Then the time it shows will be accurate (showing solar time - GMT adjusted for your longitude). Assuming it is a proper sundial and not a garden ornament.
