A chloroplast is an organelle found in many plants that contains the mechanisms for photosynthesis, the process by which plants obtain energy from sunlight. It has no sysnonym and antonym since it is an object, not a description.
Dark reaction take place in stroma.Light reaction take place in thylakoid membranes.
I'm not sure if it's accurate to say that the process that takes place in the mitochondria is in fact the opposite of what takes place in the chloroplast. Rather, I would say that the biochemical process of cellular respiration (which partially takes place in the mitochondria) is the opposite of the biochemical process of photosynthesis (which does take place in the chloroplast). In cellular respiration, oxygen is used to breakdown carbohydrates for energy and carbon dioxide is released as a byproduct. In photosynthesis the energy of sunlight is absorbed by the synthesis of carbon dioxide into carbohydrates and oxygen is released as a byproduct. Thus cellular respiration and photosynthesis can be described as opposite processes. However, the process of cellular respiration does not occur exclusively in the mitochondria but occurs in part in the cytoplasm, so I think it's more accurate to say that cellular respiration is the opposite of photosynthesis than mitochondria have the opposite function of chloroplasts.
Photosynthesis is considered as the opposite of respiration.
The pair of organelles where light energy is transformed into chemical energy are the chloroplasts. Within the chloroplasts, the process of photosynthesis occurs, converting light energy into glucose.
Because the reactions involved are opposite. In cellular respiration (occurs in mitochondrion), glucose reacts with oxygen to produce carbon dioxide and water. In photosynthesis (which occurs in chloroplasts) carbon dioxide and water are used to produce glucose and give off oxygen. The chemical processes are opposites with regard to the reactants and products, with respiration releasing energy and photosynthesis storing energy.
Mitochondria contain inner membranes called cristae, which are responsible for generating ATP through the process of oxidative phosphorylation.

For respiration, the mitochondria are essential as they are responsible for generating energy in the form of ATP. For photosynthesis, chloroplasts are required as they contain chlorophyll which captures sunlight to drive the process of producing glucose. Both processes are crucial for plant cells to produce energy and sustain life.

chloroplast
Answer Choices: A) mitosome B) kinetoplast C) chloroplast D) hydrogenosome E) mitochondrion Answer:C) chloroplast Explanation: Chloroplasts are not related to all the other choices. Mitochondria, kinetoplasts, mitosomes, and hydrogenosomes are similar in that they both deal with cellular respiration, regardless of whether it is aerobic or anaerobic. On the other hand, chloroplasts deal with photosynthesis, a process which is the complete opposite of cellular respiration.

photosynphesis
The chloroplast of plant cells and the mitochondrion of animal cells. Both of these are involved in the production of energy and are derived from the secondary endosymbiosis of an alga (in the case of the chloroplast) or a cyanobacteria (in the case of the mitochondrion).
