Also, finding a good place with strong enough surges of tides to actually generate the tides into electrcity or other forms of energy.

I don't know for certain but I expect wind power is the least widely used (wave power and tidal power are not used commercially at all yet, I believe). A lot depends on your definition of 'widely used'. Do you mean megawatts generated in a given time?

This means the tides rush in and out at speed and are able to spin electricity turbines. The are two functioning tidal power plants in the world is in France (Rance) and it is a 240 MW unit and a 254 MW unit called the Sihwa Lake Tidal Power Plant in South Korea.

Tidal waves are not used to generate electricity. A tidal wave is a huge wave, rather like a tsunami, that occurs very infrequently, and without warning.Tides are harnessed to produce electricity, and also waves are used, but not tidal waves.
