this is a loaded question. Why do you think there are two Tg's? are you just doing something like DSC? if so do you see two 'bumps'? this does not mean two Tg's, it means there are two thermodynamic transitions taking place. Most likely for PE this is a crystalization and a glass transition.

What can be used to patch polyethylene?

Specialized adhesives designed for polyethylene, such as polyethylene adhesive or polyethylene repair tape, can be used to patch polyethylene materials. These products are formulated to bond effectively with polyethylene, providing a secure and durable patch. Additionally, heat welding or using a polyethylene welding kit can also be an effective method for patching polyethylene.

How was polyethylene discovered?

Polyethylene was discovered in 1933 by Reginald Gibson and Eric Fawcett, two researchers working for Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) in the UK. They accidentally discovered polyethylene while conducting an experiment with ethylene gas at high pressure and temperature. This accidental discovery led to the development of one of the most widely used plastics in the world.

What are the two types of polythene?

The two main types of polyethylene are high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and low-density polyethylene (LDPE). HDPE is more rigid and has a higher strength-to-density ratio, making it suitable for applications requiring durability. LDPE is more flexible and has better impact resistance, commonly used for packaging and film applications.
