To conduct electricity we have to move electrons around in circuit.

Metals have a large electron pool so battery mostly have electrolytes which imparts enough energy to electrons so that they can move around in the circuit.

It not possible to single out protons out of the nucleus. Answer. There aren't. If the battery has a neutral charge there are the same number of each. Even if it is fully charged the positive terminal exactly balances the negative.

How do you tell if an ion is positive or negative from a diagram?

In a diagram, positive ions are typically represented with a plus sign (+) next to the element symbol, while negative ions are represented with a negative sign (-). Additionally, positive ions usually have fewer electrons than protons, resulting in an overall positive charge, while negative ions have more electrons than protons, resulting in an overall negative charge.

How are positive charged ions formed?

actually +vely charged ions are formed due to the addition of more no.of electrons than protons in an atom

What are changed atoms of elements that have an unequal number of protons and electrons?

Ions are changed atoms of elements that have an unequal number of protons and electrons. This imbalance gives the ion a net electric charge, either positive (if there are more protons) or negative (if there are more electrons).

Ions always has an unequal number of?

Ions always have an unequal number of protons and electrons, resulting in a net electric charge. This charge can be positive if there are more protons than electrons, or negative if there are more electrons than protons. The number of neutrons in an ion can vary.

Do ions have a positive or negative charge?

Ions can have either a positive or negative charge. Positive ions, known as cations, have more protons than electrons, resulting in a net positive charge. Negative ions, known as anions, have more electrons than protons, giving them a net negative charge.

What do ions have?

Ions have electronic charge. As ions are molecules or atoms with a different number of electrons(-1) to protons(+1) a positive ion has less electrons, and a negative ion has more

Is it possible for an atom to be not neutral?

Yes, an atom that is not neutral (that is, it is either positive or negative) is referred to as an ion. Ions containing MORE protons than electrons are considered "positive". Ions containing LESS protons than electrons are considered "negative".

Atoms whose number of electrons does not equal it's number of protons are what?

In every element the number of protons in an atom is equal to the number of electrons in it. But in the ions there is loss or gain of electrons. But the ions and the atoms are not same . Ions are formed from atoms. In the case of radio active disintegration the number of protons changes . Even after the radio active decay they exist in ionic form. So far as the question is concerned we cannot say that an atom exists in which the number of protons is different from that of electrons.

What is the difference between positive and negative ions and how do they impact our overall well-being?

Positive ions have more protons than electrons, while negative ions have more electrons than protons. Positive ions are often associated with pollution and electronic devices, while negative ions are found in nature, like near waterfalls or after a thunderstorm. Negative ions are believed to have a positive impact on our well-being, as they can improve mood, increase energy levels, and reduce stress, while positive ions may have the opposite effect.

What does an atom have more electrons or protons?

Normally it has an equal amount of both, but it can lose and gain electrons. This gives it an electrical charge. If there are more protons than electrons the charge is positive and if there are more electrons the charge is negative.Added:But charged particles are called IONS, not atoms.

Is most atoms have more electrons than proton false or true?

False. In a neutral atom, the number of electrons is equal to the number of protons. This balance between positively charged protons and negatively charged electrons is what keeps the atom electrically neutral.

What type of ions positive or negavie are formed by losing electrons?

Positively charged ions are formed by losing electrons. In a neutral atom, the number of protons and electrons are equal. If an atom loses an electron, it then contains one more proton than electrons. Since protons have a positive charge, the atom becomes an ion with a 1+ charge.
