Energy is lost ascending each trophic level of the pyramid of energy. Therefore, when quaternary consumers eat tertiary consumers, most of the energy stored in the tertiary consumers' bodies is lost and only 10-15% is passed on to the quaternary consumers. Quaternary consumers, meanwhile, occupy the top position in the pyramid of energy because nothing preys upon them in turn.

The fifth level of the energy pyramid is the quaternary consumers, also known as tertiary consumers. These organisms feed on secondary consumers and derive energy from them.
In biology, a consumer is an organism that obtains energy by consuming other organisms or organic matter. Consumers are divided into different groups based on the type of food they eat, such as herbivores (plants), carnivores (animals), and omnivores (both plants and animals).
They are the consumers.
from top to bottom of the pyramid: tertiary consumers... and so on. secondary consumers (carnivores) primary consumers (herbivores) primary producers (like grass)
In an energy pyramid, the most energy is found at the producer level, which consists of autotrophic organisms like plants that convert sunlight into usable energy through photosynthesis. As you move up the pyramid to primary consumers, secondary consumers, and so on, energy is lost at each trophic level through metabolic processes, heat loss, and waste production.

Primary Consumers
In biology, a consumer is an organism that obtains energy by consuming other organisms or organic matter. Consumers are divided into different groups based on the type of food they eat, such as herbivores (plants), carnivores (animals), and omnivores (both plants and animals).
The last level of the energy pyramid...secondary,tertiary...
no
They are the consumers.
because they give energy to consumers and all others in the energy pyramid
Its just give Energy to consumers ,
a.first-order consumers b.second-order consumers c.third-order consumers d.decomposers
Initially, energy from the sun is used by producers, which are photosynthetic, to make food. Primary consumers eat the photosynthetic organisms. Secondary consumers eat primary consumers, and so on. Tertiary consumers are at the top of the food pyramid. The amount of energy decreases with each level of the food pyramid as energy is lost as heat. This is why animals at the top of the pyramid, the tertiary consumers, must consume more animals to receive a sufficient amount of energy for survival.
