salt can not be filtered the only way to seprate salt and water when salt has dissolved in water is evaperation, all the water will evaprate leaving the salt behind.

Why doesn't filter paper method will not work for salt water?

because the filter paper was really tight so it wont go through

How can separate water and salt without lossing of water?

You can separate water and salt using a process called evaporation. Simply heat the mixture of water and salt until all the water evaporates, leaving behind the salt. This way, you can separate the two substances without losing any water.

Why can a filter paper separate sand from salt water but not the salt?

Sugar/salt molecules bond with water. songjongsuk: what he means is that the sugar/salt molecules are PART of the water, which means they are technically liquid. So they can pass through the filter paper just like any other liquid.

How do you separate a mixture of salt water and sand and still get water?

You can separate salt water and sand by using a process called filtration. Pour the mixture into a filter paper to collect the sand, while allowing the salt water to pass through (filtrate). Then, you can evaporate the water from the salt water to reclaim the water content.

What method is used to separate sand from salt?

Mix the solution with water to dissolve the salt. Then filter the sand from the saltwater, evaporate the water from the saltwater and you will be left with the separated sand and salt. 1 Pour water on the mixture of salt and sand. 2 filter the salt water out of the sand with a filter paper. 3 evaporate the water out of the salt water, leaving only the salt. Add water, the salt dissolves, and the sand sinks to the bottom. After that, use a filter, and pour the mixture down it. The sand should get trapped in the top and the water and salt should go to the beaker below. After that is finished, put the sand to the side. Then evaporate the water in the salt and water mix. When all the water is gone, you should be left with salt rings at the bottom, and the sand and salt are separated. Add water, the salt dissolves, and the sand sinks to the bottom. Why salt can't be separated from salt water by using filter paper?

The dissolved salt will go right through. Anything dissolved in water can't be separated out using filter paper. However, if you evaporate off the water, the salt remains in the container, and you can separate it that way.

Which physical method can be used for obtaining a sample of salt from a small beaker of salt water?

One method to obtain salt from salt water is through evaporation. Simply heat the salt water in the small beaker until all the water evaporates, leaving behind the salt crystals. Another method is to use a filter paper or a sieve to separate the salt crystals from the remaining water in the beaker.

Why can sand and salt be separated using filter paper and funnel?

Sand and salt can be separated using filter paper and a funnel because salt dissolves in water, while sand does not. When the mixture is added to water and stirred, the salt will dissolve, leaving the sand behind. By pouring the mixture through filter paper in a funnel, the sand is trapped on the paper while the salt solution passes through, allowing for the separation of the two components.

How do you separate salt water from the mixture of chalk powder mixed in water?

Pass the mixture through filter paper. The salt water will pass through leaving the chalk behind in the filter paper.

How do you separate pure salt from salt?

Dissolve the whole salt in a warm water, then filter it out. By evaporating the filtrate, we shall get pure salt. The impurities will left on the filter paper(as these are insoluble in water).

How do you separate sand from the salt?

Put the sand and salt mixture into a beaker of water. Put more water or raise the temperature of the water until the salt completely disappears. Pour everything in the beaker onto a piece of filter paper. The sand will stay on the filter paper while the water and salt solution will pass through the filter paper. To obtain the sale, simply boil the water and the remaining solid after all the water boiled is salt.

Why do you use filter paper to separate sand from water and not salt from water?

Because the salt dissolves in the water whereas sand does not.

Why can't you extract salt from salty water using filter paper?

The salt is in an ionized state ... only discrete particles can be extracted using filter paper, nothing that is dissolved.

Separation of sugar and water?

Salt does not desolve in pure grain alcohol. Put the mixture in the solution, then filter through filter paper or a coffee filter. then evaporate the alcohol and your left with salt in the filter and sugar in the other end.
