Photosynthesis is the root source of all foods on Earth. Amongst all organisms inhabiting Earth, plants are the only ones which are able to produce their own foods through photosynthesis.

Without photosynthesis, plants would die as they can't produce foods for themselves. When plants die, animals that eat plants will also die as they lose their food source. Subsequently, other animals which eat these plant-eating animals will also die as they, too, lose their food source. Eventually, every organism will die from starvation.

What would happen to green plants if there were no light on the earth?

If there were no light on Earth, green plants would be unable to perform photosynthesis, the process through which they convert light energy into chemical energy. Without photosynthesis, plants would be unable to produce the glucose they need for growth and energy, leading to their eventual death. Additionally, the absence of plants would disrupt ecosystems and food chains, as they are primary producers that support herbivores and, subsequently, carnivores. Ultimately, this would result in a significant collapse of life on Earth.

What would happen if EM waves did not come to earth from the sun?

If electromagnetic waves did not reach Earth from the Sun, the planet would be devoid of light and warmth. This absence of sunlight would prevent photosynthesis, disrupt the planet's climate balance, and likely render most life forms unable to survive.

Do plants photosynthesize or cellular respirate?

This is kind of a guess, but I would say photosynthesis since some of the first organisms on earth were bacteria that did photosynthesis.

If there was no plants life on the Earth?

If there was no plant life on Earth, the atmosphere would lack oxygen as plants play a critical role in producing it through photosynthesis. This would disrupt the entire food chain and impact all living organisms that depend on plants for sustenance. The absence of plant life would also lead to the degradation of ecosystems and a decline in biodiversity.

What would happen to life on Earth if there were no plants?

If there were no plants on Earth, life as we know it would be drastically altered. Plants are crucial for producing oxygen through photosynthesis, which is essential for the survival of most living organisms. Without plants, the food chain would collapse, as they are primary producers that support herbivores and, subsequently, carnivores. Additionally, the absence of plants would lead to increased carbon dioxide levels, resulting in a significant decline in air quality and climate destabilization.

Would life on earth would be possible in the absence of photosynthesis?

Can't, it's a false statement. Live existed for > billion years before photosynthesis.

Why do you need photosynthesis?

without photosynthesis there would be no life on earth... therefor you would not exist.

What if the sun didn't shines?

If the sun didn't shine, Earth would quickly become cold and dark, making it difficult for life to survive. Plants would die due to lack of photosynthesis, which would disrupt the entire food chain. The absence of sunlight would also affect weather patterns and global climate.

How would earth be without radiation?

Without radiation, Earth would not receive any energy from the sun, leading to a lack of heat and light. This would result in extremely cold temperatures and darkness, making it impossible for life to exist as we know it. Radiation also plays a crucial role in natural processes such as photosynthesis and the Earth's magnetic field, so the absence of radiation would have far-reaching consequences on the planet.

If CO2 was not on earth what will earth be like?

If there was no Carbon Dioxide on Earth it would be very different then what it is now. Firstly plants need CO2 for photosynthesis, without CO2 plants could not complete photosynthesis and would die of starvation (photosynthesis is a plants way of making food). Secondly CO2 is a gas that keeps the Earth's temperature at the correct level, without CO2 the Earth would be much colder and therefor unable to support life.

Would there be less oxygen in the air if photosynthesis stopped happening on earth?

yes

Does oxygen continue to be released if carbon dioxide is not available?

It depends on what you mean by "Continue to be released" Photosynthesis cannot function withot carbon dioxide, so in its absence all plant life would die. However, the earth would receive very smal, amounts of oxygen from meteortes, etc.

Is photosynthesis life or earth science?

i would say its life because its the life of a plant
