no because the leaves or anyother part of the plan has to be exposed to the sun so the energy from the light will hit the plant and it can crreate sugar to supply energy (with carbon dioxide as well)

Where in a leaf does photosynthesis take place?

Photosynthesis takes place in the chloroplasts of a leaf, specifically in the cells of the mesophyll layer.

What parts of the leaf contained starch before the foil cover was added?

Before the foil cover was added, the parts of the leaf that contained starch were typically the areas exposed to light, primarily the green parts where photosynthesis occurs, such as the upper epidermis and palisade mesophyll. These regions synthesize glucose during photosynthesis, which is then converted into starch and stored. The covered areas, deprived of light, would not produce starch.

How do you determine where photosynthesis takes place?

a microscope and photosynthesis takes place in the leaf

How does starch's location in leaves prove photosynthesis?

To clarify: We boiled alcohol with a leaf and tested for starch with iodine (present in the veins), We also covered a leaf with tin foil and came back the next day. The leaf was more green in the veins and more discolored farther away from the veins. This lab was suppose to show us glucose is made by the leaf, but all it proves is that starch is in the veins, right?

What part of a plant's leaf cells does photosynthesis take place?

Photosynthesis takes place in the chloroplasts within the leaf cells of a plant. Chloroplasts contain chlorophyll, the pigment responsible for capturing sunlight and converting it into energy through the process of photosynthesis.

What does a leaf cell do?

The palisade leaf cell provides chlorophlly to the leaf as a result photosynthesis will take place in the palisade cell.
