What I have learned in Earth Science I would say that there is many volcanoes and/or ice geysers.
A control in a science fair project would usually be a separate running of the experiment where you don't change anything. Example: If you are testing the effect that music has on plant growth, you would grow a plant with no music.
A science project on antimatter could be suitable for high school students, particularly those in grades 10-12. The topic involves complex physics concepts that may be more challenging for younger students to grasp. It would be best if the project is tailored to their understanding and skill level.
A planet with fewer active volcanoes would have more craters, as the ash and lava from volcanoes will cover existing craters.
They would be classified as extinct. Volcanoes with recorded eruptions - but nothing 'recent' would be classed as dormant.

If it is simply on tornadoes in general I would recommend something such as "Tornadoes: The Most Violent Storms on Earth" It would be different if the project focuses on some particular aspect of tornadoes.
