If you actually physically kill the person or physically help the person kill themselves (for example if you literally help them tie the noose from which they are going to hang themselves, or if they are so weak they can't even get out of bed and they ask you to suffocate them and you do it) then you just commited a criminal offence. I believe that if you also provide them with a weapon such as a firearm, rope (for hanging), knife, sword, explosive, posion, etc... knowing full well what their intentions were then yes also I believe that is a crime. However... giving "advice" really isn't illegal as I really honestly can't see how they could possibly charge you with any crime based solely on what you say to them. The whole freedom of speech thing applies I believe.
Laws vary between countries and regions. Mostly, it is illegal.
Suicide is not considered a crime in California.
No, attempted suicide is not a crime in the United States.
If you commit suicide it can't be a crime. If you attempt it in the United States it is still not a crime. India and Singapore are the only countries that I know punish for attempted suicide by 1 to 5 years in prison. It could technically be counted as a crime; however, there is no punishment conceivable for someone who has committed suicide, as they are already dead and therefore cannot feel or care about anything (unless they are watching somehow from heaven).
There does not appear to be a Kentucky Statute that defines suicide or attempted suicide as a crime. KRS 216.300-308 deals with assisted suicide which is a crime in Kentucky.
No, it isn't a crime at all.

Attempted suicide is not typically considered a crime. It can be considered an act resulting from a mental illness, however.
