To answer your question in a word, yes. In todays society it's always about how skinny you are, what brand you're wearing, what does your hair look like, etc. We are all deeply impacted by media whether it's a magazine, a reporter in your face, or even just the news. Point is, it has too great of an impact on us, whether or not you care about what people think of you. It starts with one person some where to hear about the trends, then spread them. Anyone who doesn't is deemed a freak. Why this is, I don't know. But I can guess. I think it's because someone likes a certain idea. Then other people think they like it too, and if one is not like the others, nobody cares about them. It's not because someone doesn't care about peoples feelings. It's because someone cares too much about what people think of them. Hope this helped.

The value of disillusionment and alienation among the Lost Generation writers is reflected in "Soldier's Home" through the protagonist's inability to reintegrate into society after experiencing the horrors of war. The story highlights the sense of disconnect and loss of purpose felt by many soldiers returning from World War I, a common theme among Lost Generation literature.
When the amplitudes of the transmitted and reflected waves are equal, it means that half of the incident wave energy is being transmitted and half is being reflected at the interface between the two media. This occurs at the Brewster angle when the reflected wave is completely polarized perpendicular to the plane of incidence.
