Any size sheet of paper can only be folded in half 7 times.
That's called a hamburger fold.... mmmmmmmmmm hamburger.
Folding the piece of paper does not change the thickness of the piece of paper. However, the thickness of the folded paper would be twice that of the original sheet of paper.
The International Standard for paper sizes defines A0 as a sheet of paper that has an area of 1 metre2 and whose length is sqrt(2) times its width. So A0 is approx 841mm*1.189mm.A1 is the size of an A0 sheet folded in half lengthwise: 595mm * 841mmA2 is the size of an A1 sheet folded in half lengthwise: 420mm * 595mmA3 is the size of an A2 sheet folded in half lengthwise: 297mm * 420mmA4 is the size of an A3 sheet folded in half lengthwise: 210mm * 297mmThe size of an A4 sheet is 0.0625 metre2 or 2-4metre2.If you took 2x sheets of size Ax you would have 1 sq metre of paper.
The height of a piece of paper folded in half once is half of its original height.
Any paper can be folded in half for 6 times.

To make a paper popper, you need a sheet of notebook paper. One way to make a popper from the paper is to first fold the sheet of paper into thirds with the lines going horizontally. Next, you fold the paper in half so the middle shows two single edges, and then hold the bottom corners and swing the folded paper down to make the popping sound.
It is hard to explain, but it basically amounts to the size to fold ratio. A large enough, thin enough, sheet of paper can be folded more than eight times, but it has to be the size of a football field in order to do it. 128 layers of paper is a lot to fold in half to get to 256!
i think
Half of A4 is A5.
If by sides you refer to the number of paper slices you can hold then the formula is this: assuming that when the paper has not been folded, the number of times folded is equal zero then the equation is: 2x, where x is the number of times folded. for example if the paper has been folded four times the number of sides is: 24 = 16
