skimming a book is actually very easy and comes in handy if you prcrastinate on book reports and stuff like me sometimes. All you have to do is quickly pull your eyes across the page. Picking up all key words in the sentence. (dont care to much about the ifs ands and buts.) If you get to the end of the page and you can't summarize what you just read and you don't really know what it's about then you skimmed too fast or didn't pick up enough words. But keep in mind when you're skimming that the faster you are able to read, the easier it is to skim.
Like in the sentance: I went to the park across the street from my house, and bought some purple and blue flowers from the man in the orange striped uniform.
If you skimmd that you would probably pick out: I went to park across street bought flowers from man in uniform. The your good cuz u understand that u bought flowers at the park but if you just get a bunch of random words that seem don't seem to dovetail then you read too fast.
