Former New York Yankee baseball star was born in Oklahoma. He lived there all his life and became aware of the many Cherokee people who lived nearby. Most of all his Oklahoma friends and family understood the tragedy of early America's forced march of the Cherokee Tribe from the eastern part of the US to the territory of Oklahoma. The Cherokee Trail of Tears was a sad note of his early years in Oklahoma.

To be truthful, you just know. You are raised knowing, and you die knowing. By US Government standards, and its political sub-division known as "The Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma," your ancestor must be on at least one set of official government documentation (shunned at the time) and you must be a descendant of at least X% of blood - known as a "Blood Quantum" (an official policy of the Nazi Party, officiated by one of its founders).
The official sunset time in San Francisco on October 31, 2009, is 6:12 PM.NOTE: California is a big place and sunset time can vary from place to place, depending on where you stand. But it will probably not vary by more than 2-3 minutes from the sunset time in San Francisco.
The time of sunrise and sunset is very dependent on the date and exact location. A difference of 15 miles can change the time of sunrise or sunset by a minute. Please re-post your question with a city name or zip code. You can easily calculate the time of sunrise or sunset by visiting the web site of the U.S. Naval Observatory at http://www.usno.navy.mil/USNO/astronomical-applications/data-services/rs-one-day-us.

The government created and enforced many "trails of tears". The one that history records made most famous was that of the Cherokee. Forced to walk thousands of miles from Georgia to Oklahoma, four thousand Indians are thought to have died. This removal was against the findings of the Supreme Court of the United States who said the Cherokee would have to agree with the removal. They never did.
