Promoting anti-discriminatory practise = Anti-discriminatory practice is the main strategy in combating discrimination. It is action taken to prevent discrimination on the grounds of race, class, gender, disability etc.and takes into account how we behave towards other individuals. All employees in a care setting should promote this practice in the workplace as it is key to combating prejudice, in doing so they are trying to eradicate discrimination and promote equality for service users and for staff.
Maintaining confidentiality of information = Maintaining confidentiality is when you don't go and talk to another person about another persons business, health, life or any thing else. Pretty much it means to keep your mouth shut and don't repeat any thing you have heard regarding some one else but your self.
Providing individualised care = care that is planned to meet the particular needs of one patient, as opposed to a routine applied to all patients suffering from the same disease.
Providing effective communication and relationships = By creating positive relationships with the service user you can build a bond of trust, this therefore means that they are more likely to cooperate with what you want them to do, they like you and respect you which is the kind of attitude you need from the service user for the environment to run as smoothly as possible. By communicating effectively it gives the chance of the service users to understand what you are saying if they have misunderstood what you are saying they may think that you have lied to them or purposefully not explained to them fully what if going to happen.
Protecting individuals from abuse = Protecting individuals from abuse means you protect someone from being physically abused, verbally abused, emotionally abused or sexually abused. These forms of abuse are more vulnerable towards children. A social workers job is to stop children from being abused in any kind of way and protect them from coming into contact with that person that is abusing them.
Acknowledging people's personal beliefs and identities = The Meaning of Acknowledging people's personal beliefs and identities means
you listen to peoples beliefs and you support them in what there identity may be. for example if they are homosexual or straight, or if they believe in the devil or god, as a social worker or a nursery teacher you need to be able to listen to them and support them in their choice of belief.
Promoting and supporting individual's right to dignity, independence and safety = When working within a health and social care sector based environment is to ensure that each service user feels that they can trust you as the service provider. The service user must also feel respected and be given privacy if and when necessary, they will also depend on the service provider for a stable safety net and protection when necessary i.e family, friends, former abusers and any other party that they may feel intimidated against.

If care values are not applied, the quality of care provided can significantly deteriorate, leading to negative outcomes for individuals receiving care. This may result in a lack of trust, poor communication, and inadequate support, ultimately affecting the emotional and physical well-being of those in care. Furthermore, neglecting core values can lead to a disheartened workforce, increased turnover, and a toxic environment, hindering the overall effectiveness of care services.
