Your doctor wants you to use the shoulder very little during recovery, so the sling is recommended. This allows it to heal in the best time. There's no shortcut for Physical therapy and other recommendations if you want the best outcome--full use of your shoulder.
VERY CAREFUL, You dont want to rupture anything. This doesnt mean you should be lazy though. Go for short walks to get strong again
It will progress to terminal stage heart failure
I don't think so, i had strained a muscle just behind my shoulder blade and it hurt like crazy everyday! It got worse by the minute. i suggest you take some pain medication such as aleve, advil, etc, etc, but i highly suggest ibuprofen because not only does it relax your muscles it also reduces swelling. But going back to the question no, i dont think that you being put in a sling is called for, but if you are still worried i strongly reccomend you to go and see a doctor again.
