You can't get a new wig for a doll at the American Girl hospital, they will only replace the whole head. This is a problem for many collectors as the older dolls have slightly different faces, and a new head will change their appearance. Head replacement costs $39 plus shipping and handling ($6.95/doll I believe).
you take the head off and use a spoon to get the wig off and then put a new wig size 5-6.
You may need a wig head and a wig cap. You place the kinky hair upon the caped doll by gluing it piece by piece until you reached your desired look! Start from the nape to the crown and let set for a day or two. The cap will slide off of the doll and you will have a wig cap full of the afro you designed.
