Tracheostomy - an operation to make an opening into the trachea. (a tube is usually inserted into this opening) Tracheotomy- making an incision into the trachea, usually intended to be temporary ( usually done in emergencies)
tracheotomy
Tracheotomy may be what you are looking for. This is done when a person has an obstruction in the windpipe that can't be removed, and is necessary to allow the person to get air and not choke to death from lack of oxygen.
tracheotomy
tracheostomy: opening into the trachea through the neck to establish an airway. Not to be confused with endotracheal intubation which is when a tube is placed through the mouth into the trachea to establish an airway.

gastrostomy is the surgical creation of an artificial opening into the stomach. This procedure is frequently performed for the placement of a permanent feeding tube. It now can be done endoscopically under mild sedation.

A surgical opening of the chest is called a thoracotomy, when a tube or some other structure is placed in the incision site to keep the hole open, that is a throacostomy.
Thoracotomy (thora = thorax [chest] + tom = cut + y = procedure) is the surgical incision (cutting) of the chest. There are three approaches: [1] medial sternotomy used in open heart surgery, [2] posterolateral thoracotomy used in lung surgery, and [3] anterolateral thoracotomy for open chest massage in a traumatic cardiac arrest.
Video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS), which is less invasive, has been a successful alternative in many cases.

Thoracostomy (thoraco = thorax [chest] + os = mouth + tom = cut + y = procedure) is a procedure in which a flexible plastic chest tube is inserted through the chest wall to remove air, fluid or pus from the intrathoracic space.
A thoracostomy would be done for a pneumothorax (collapsed lung) or pleural effusion (accumulation of a fluid [blood, serous, pus]). Chest tubes are also a routine procedure in any open-chest surgery.
Developing an artificial opening through the abdominal wall is exteriorizing or exteriorization.

Laryngostomy is surgical creation of an artificial opening into the larynx.
The term used will be esophagostomy, but I have never seen it done.
Tracheostomy
Jejunostomy is surgical creation of an artificial opening into the jejunum.
Antrostomy is the medical term meaning surgical creation of an artificial opening into the maxillary sinus.
Pyelostomy is surgical creation of an artificial opening into the renal pelvis
An enterostomy is the surgical creation of an artificial opening into the intestine.
The medical term for surgical creation of an artificial opening in the septum is "septostomy." This procedure is done to improve blood flow and alleviate pressure in the heart.
A tympanostomy is the medical term meaning surgical creation of an artificial opening into the eardrum to relive buildup of fluid or pus. This is part of the process commonly known as "putting tubes in the ears."
The medical terminology combining form for the surgical creation of an artificial opening is "otomy." Examples include tracheotomy (creation of an opening in the windpipe) or colostomy (creation of an opening in the colon).
Ventriculocisternostomy
-ostomy is the medical terminology combining form meaning surgical creation of an artificial opening into a lumen.
This procedure is known as a Choledochojejunostomy
We call this a colostomy. The first part of the word comes from colon as you can imagine and -stom- means mouth or opening. The last part is -my and that means surgery or cutting. Surgery that opens the colon to the outside.
Esophagectomy is surgical removal of all or part of the esophagus.
