A good team is made up of individuals who recognize the best practice is a team approach to health care; the Geshalt notion that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. The team should be made up of a group individuals who each have an expertise of their own, who are multi-leveled, multi-cultural - in terms of organizational culture - and cross functional. It is a team that holds to a collaborative thought of common purpose, common cause. It is based on organizational and team goals rather than individual interests. They operate with mutual respect for each others opinions, critical thinkers, and thoughtful to the needs of each member of the team.
