7-31-11>>> Please look at the reverse of the coin for a mintmark, it will be an "S" for San Francisco or the "CC" of the Carson-City Mint. The Philadelphia Mint did not strike any double eagles in 1884. Post new question.

gold coin are becoming very valuable these days. if it is inn good condition you might get 500 dollars for it.

I don't have any of these coins but I do have a very extensive coin collection.
