Sperm is X or Y, it fertilizes the egg forming XY or XX. XY would be male and XX female.
The babies sex is determined by the sperm. The egg has XX chromosome and each sperm cell is either a XX or XY chromosome. So which ever sperm cell reaches the egg and implants determines the sex. If the sperm was an XX chromosome the baby would be a girl, if the sperm was XY chromosome the baby will be a boy. Hope this helps!
The sperm. The egg is always an XX chromosome and the sperm can either by XX or XY if the sperm is XX it will be a girl if it is XY it will be a boy.Edit: Actually, all girls have XX chromosomes, and all boys have XY chromosomes. But eggs and sperm are gametes with half the chromosomes of the parents. So all eggs have X chromosomes, and sperm can have either an X or a Y chromosome.(So your intention in the answer was right, but just a small technical error.)
It is a matter of killing sperm. The vaginae is actually a hostile place for microorganisms, the body protecting itself from infection. In order for sperm to make it up to where the egg is it has to be given some help from the female body. Now there is some belief that there is a different of the tolerance of XX and XY sperm to acidity. If a woman were to make her body more acidic then she would be favouring the survival of XX sperm over XY sperm. Therefore the eating of acidic food should favour the conception of girls over boys.
The sperm race begins after the man and women have had sex! xx
actually its not a sperm, its a chromosome. it can be a sperm but it is mostly referred as a chromosome, or DNA. Male DNA's are XY, Females are XX.
Not sure of the EXACT date, but it was in 1937. xx
Sex is determined by a pair of sex chromosomes. Males have XY chromosomes and females have XX chromosomes. In the fertilization stage where the sperm combines with the egg, the sex of the offspring depends on whether the sperm carries a X or Y chromosome. The ovum always carries a X chromosome because females only have X chromosomes. So, if the sperm carries the X chromosome, the offspring will have XX chromosome and becomes a girl. If it carries the Y, the baby becomes a boy. X (sperm) + X (egg) = XX (female) Y (sperm) + X (egg) = XY (male)
To tease, bully, make-fun of, torture (maybe)... xx
Females' eggs always provide an X. If the sperm is X, the child is female (XX); if it is Y, the child is male (XY).
tell her how you feel n make her laugh xx
The sperm cell determines the gender of a human baby. Ova only have X sex chromosomes, but sperm cells can have either an X or a Y sex chromosome. If an X sperm fertilizes an egg, the offspring will be XX and be female. If a Y sperm fertilizes an egg, the offspring will be XY and be male.
