The Dahlonega Mint closed in 1861 and the Denver Mint opened in 1906 so what you are probably looking at is an O mint mark, indicating the coin was made in New Orleans. Please see the Related Question for details.

Look on the back of the coin to see if there's a small mint mark letter above the DO in DOLLAR. It should have an O or an S.

If the coin doesn't have a mint mark, it should be checked by an expert because it is likely either a fake or an altered S or O mint coin. 1895 Philadelphia dollars were only issued as proofs and values range from $16,000 to over a half-million.
