Ober-Gemau, more commonly referred to as Oberammergau, is a town located in Bavaria, Germany. It is situated in the foothills of the Alps, approximately 90 kilometers southwest of Munich. The town is famous for its passion play, which has been performed every decade since 1634, as well as its traditional woodcarving and picturesque scenery.
