The proletariates were represented by the color white in the Russian Revolution. The color red represented the bourgeoisie, and in the book, what color ribbons do the other farms give her? RED.

The novel, Animal Farm, was intended to satirize the Bolshevik Revolution, not modern society. Mollie represented the spoiled Russian aristocracy that, although supportive of Trotsky and Stalin to some extent at the onset of communism in the Soviet Union, soon became nostalgic for their former glory and finances, and fled to other countries.
