The Instructor Trainer course does not necessarily qualify you for the 5K. To be awarded the 5K ASI a soldier must graduate from an accredited instructor school house under TRADOC...for example, to become a Command and General Staff College Instructor, one must graduate from their Instructor Course and upon graduation be awarded the 5K additional skill identifier in the form of an official memorandum for record...IAW DA PAM 611-21, which designates skill identifiers. Drill Instructors that instruct would be required to attend their designated school, and receive instruction on how to instruct...then receive the memorandum for record. All instructing is not the same, the Adult Learning Method used in CGSOC is not necessarily the same teaching method used in Basic Training....however, a 5K ASI is the same across the board. Bottom line, all schools use different methods of delivery, which will require some familiarization.
