"ciao" means "hello", and is pronounced "chow" "come stai?" means "how are you?", and is pronounced "coma sty" If you're talking to somebody you don't know very well, you'd say: "buongiorno come sta?" "buongiorno" means either "hello" or "good day" and is pronounced "boo on chore no" "come sta" means "how are you?" and is pronounced, "coma stah" And that's how you say it in Italian!
