in France they start school at 8.45 and finish at 4.00. Occasionally they also start at 8.30.Note also that often the junior and infant schools are closed on Wednesdays. It used to be the case that schools were open on Saturday mornings but this is often now not the case. Mainly its Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri only for lower schools.
