I would be surprised to come across any Japanese name that means death; considering the relatively superstitious nature of the Japanese, I doubt anyone would risk naming their child something so inauspicious.

But the name is Gaara and it can be a boy/girl name. It is from the Japanese show naruto and it combined with the love symbol on his forehead makes it symbolize gaara's love 4 death
