Improvement:
There are two different words: 'domo' and 'doumo' (dômo). The second is only partially explained above. As for a complement to that I'll add that 'doumo' can also be used for casual greetings, like 'hi there, see you' too and it has some small other usages such as 'really, truly, quite' as well.
As for 'domo' (originally 共 'tomo') generally it is a suffix which when added at the end of a word pluralizes (removes singularity) and sometimes also gives a 'degradation' to it. For instance 二人 /fu ta ri/ means 'two people, a pair, etc' and when suffixed by 'domo' it becomes 二人共/fu ta ri to mo/ ( also commonly pronounced /fu tari do mo/) which could be translated as 'both of you/them/us, you two, the two of you/them/us'.
Usually when used for degradation, it is followed by 奴 /meh/ also another degradation suffix. It's somewhat like adding " both of, all of, you ....s, those ....s " to a word in English. Take 野郎 /ya rou/ for example, it means 'rascal, fiend, scoundrel'. 野郎ども /ya rou do mo/ (also yarou domo me) however means something close to 'you scoundrels! (you/those) damned rascals!' while cursing at them directly or intended towards that bunch.
Due to Japanese having different senses of speaking, this degradation when used about oneself (generally oneself, things one owns or that are related to oneself), shows respect towards others, considering 'humble language'. 私共 /wa ta shi do mo/ for example is humble way of saying 'we, us', while 私 /watashi/ alone simply means 'I' (first person singular) and is not specifically regarded as 'humble' or 'polite'.
Japaneses slang for: Thanks.
Thank you
Yellow domo's name
Domo arigato means thank you (polite form). Domo is the weakest form of thank you, more polite than that it is domo arigato, and the most polite form would be domo arigato gozaimasu/domo arigato gozaimashita. (do-mo al-ee-gato go-zai-moss) (do-mo al-ee-gato go-zai-mash-ee-ta, note that the "ee" in "mash-ee-ta" is pronounced so quick it isnt heard, so pronounce it like "go-zai-mash-ta")
"Domo Arigato" actually means: "Thank You Very Much". It is Japanese.
Depending on how you use it, 'hello' in Japanese can be in many forms. Good morning--Ohayo Good afternoon--Konichiwa Good evening/night--Konbanwa Another word is 'domo', but domo can mean a bunch of things, so if you use it often, you tend to appear as pretty vague. Lol, I know it's a lot, but hope it helped a bit. =)
Konnichiwa (Kon-ee-chee-wa), is basic hello, and means Good Afternoon Domo (Doh-mo), is informal way of saying hello
"Domo arigato" means "Thank you" in japanese.
