It may be that the word is 'tambien'. In which case, it means, more or less, 'also', 'too' in the sense of 'also'. Then on the other hand, in context, the person might be hearing 'esta bien' said by a native speaker who is speaking with the nuances of the spoken language like say, rap, in English. 'ta bien' As great, fine, an answer to the question 'how' s the family, the dog, the wife, etc.... It could be part of a greeting, not really a question. The first part of social interchange which basicly says nothing, but sets up people for the real interchange which might follow. This one really requires context to get it translated.
