It's the hawaiin form of Keith. Keith was originally Scottish and probably came from a form of 'coillte' or 'ceiteach', meaning "woods".

It might also have been influenced by Welsh 'coedwig' (forest), and even by Old English 'cuth' (knowledgeable).
