e' = accent aigu = makes the sound of the a in age.
e` = accent grave = makes the e sound in best. Also in miche`le and fre`re
e^ = circon flexe = makes the e sound in feast.
c with a little squiggle under it is cedille = s sounds
e with with two dots above it is = trema = it separates the vowel sounds

the first accent is like a coma facing left: like \ but ontop of a letter, it is called: l'accent grave

the second is like the first, but facing right: like / but ontop of the letter, it is called: L'accent aigu. (ontop of the i is l'accent circonflexe, look below)


the third is like a hat, or like a triangle without the bottom like: /\, but ontop of the letter, it is called: l'accent circonflexe.


the fourth is like this ç but without the c connected. it is called: l'accent cedille (on top of the first e is l'accent aigu)

In Spanish, you use an accent mark over stressed syllables. Like the word 'tambien', it should have an accent mark above the 'e' since you pronounce tambien as tam-be-en.
