His grandpa continues by telling him that they made him go to war but he asked if he could be a teacher there. They said he was too smart for himself and gave him a job cleaning toilets. When his time was up in the war, he returned and wanted to be a teacher but he needed a college degree. He worked as a farmer because he needed to care for his family. He got married and had kids. He was done reading. Arturo said," I'm not going to let anything get in my way of reaching my goal." His grandpa said your time is up, you can leave and his grandpa went to read a poem in the rec room.
