It is the use of multiple words to describe a singular word in a foreign sentence when those words represent different ideas.

Example:

Translation of the Spanish "niño" in the sentence "Hablé con el niño":

I spoke with the boy/child/youngster/pre-teen.

I.e. choose one and stick with it!
