There is not a word for would this modal word has no literal translation

Conditional :

French use the verb at the conditional tense

I would do it if - Je le ferais si ...

If you asked him he would do it. Si vous le lui demandiez, il le ferait.

If you had asked him he would have done it. Si vous le lui aviez demandé, il l'aurait fait.

for desire or preference

I'd like (to) ..- j'aimerais (+ infinitive)

Would you like... ? - Veux-tu (or voulez-vous) + direct object ?

Voulez vous un verre ? - Would you like a drink ?

or Veux-tu (or voulez-vous) + verb (infinitive)

Veux-tu prendre la voiture ? - would you like to take the car ?

For regrets

Would that (if you mean if only) - si seulement (+ imperfect)

As you expression of willing

Verbe vouloir (+ Imparfait or passé-composé tense) + relative sentence (in which the verb is the plus-que parfait (Pluperfect)
