Because he is Right Handed ! easy as that
apseesThe Princess told her lover which door the young lady was behind. Eventhough she didn't like the young lady behind the door and she would have to sit and watch the marriage ceremony.
The fate of that young mans life is in the hands of the Princess. She knows that one door has a vicious tiger ready to kill the young man. While the other has a very beautiful woman that he must marry (by law) and then live in a set up home out side of the town. But here is the catch...that beautiful woman is the Princess's most hated enemy and to see her lover marry this woman would be quite devastating. So as the crowd cheers on for him to pick a door to seal his fate, he look into the Princess's eyes (his lover) and she sneakily gestures towards the right. From there on he smiles and without hesitation opens the door. Then "the end". The story ends without telling what happens when that door is open. Did the Princess have him open the door of the tiger so she did not have to life life knowing her most hated enemy won? Or does she look past all this spite and save her lover. This is the Suspense of "Lady or the Tiger"
Dramatic irony- We know who the lady is behind the door. We also know that she had something going on with the King's daughter's lover, and we know that the daughter really hates her.
The difficult decision in the lady or the tiger is when the princesses has to decide whether to tell her lover to open the door with the tiger or the lady. Will she give into her jealousy and kill him, or will her love for him overpower the emotions of hatred boiling inside her?
Well, nobody knows because the author lets the reader decide whats gonna happen. I think that the tiger comes out of the door I got this from some evidence in the story about the princesses attitude and how she is barbaric like her father. Hopefully that helps :)
because he is right handed.
The story "The Lady or the Tiger?" by Frank R. Stockton ends on a cliffhanger, leaving it to the reader's imagination to decide whether the princess chose to reveal the lady or the tiger behind the door.

In "The Lady, or the Tiger?" by Frank R. Stockton, the dilemma presented at the end leaves the fate of the condemned man unresolved. The princess, who loves him, must decide whether to send him to his death by choosing the door behind which a fierce tiger is hidden, or to offer him the possibility of happiness with another woman by indicating the door with the lady behind it. The story ends without revealing the princess's choice, leaving the outcome to the reader's interpretation.

To determine if a door is a right-hand door, stand facing the door from the outside. If the hinges are on the right side and the doorknob is on the left side, it is a right-hand door.
