Johnny western after appearing in an episode about a ranch in which the cowboys may had been infected with small pox. the doctor was a lady who sent for paladine. I think it was played by june dayton. Johnny western had difficulty fighting with boone because he admired him so much. Boone made a special effort to help him with the sceene. western went home and wrote the lyrics. the next day he presented it to richard boone as a gift. boone had him create the song with music. boone presented it to the person responsible for the theme of the show. the three created a company and copywrited the song. the three received payements since then. western is the only one still alive and still receives residules from the corp, boone's estate and the other persons estate still receive payments also. It is a tribute to boone because he could have kept the song for him self and not given credit to western.
