During the first decade of twenty first century, the laundry equipment manufacturing industry was up and down. But by the middle of the decade, the situation has started to change. And I too think the largest product in this industry are the washers and extractors. Dryers and presses account for 16 and 11 percent of sales respectively. And nowadays all these laundry equipments are available via online shops such as NRI parts (based in in Brampton).
No, the Springfield Metallic Casket Company (SMC) has been out of business for decades. After its foundation in Springfield, Ohio in 1884, the company soon acquired the reputation of being one of the leaders of the industry. In an advertisement at the end of the 19th century, SMC claimed that its bronze caskets were virtually indestructible. For other caskets it gave a 50 year warranty of protection from the intrusion of water. In 1900 the company came up with the innovation of a "burglar proof grave vault". Gradually SMC became became one of the largest manufacturers of metal caskets and metallic burial vaults in the United States, at times probably the largest. In the 1950s it had some 230 employees. Until 1943 the company possessed also a warehouse in Detroit; for this purpose, SMC had erected a building with a beautiful art deco front in 1930. Legend has it that the bronze casket Al Capone was buried in, had been manufactured by SMC. In the 1960s, the company lost its independence and became a division of Springfield Greene Industries, Inc.. About a decade later, in 1974, the SMC factory closed down.
IPA was started by an previous GSM employee. Both operations use about the same methods and practices. IPA has changed names many times over the last decade trying to avoid the bad reputation created by unattainable claims and high pressure tactics. GSM also tried using "The May Company" name in the last year or so of operations trying to run away from BBB unsatisfactory rating and near total client dissatisfaction which was everywhere on social media. Best to remember... If it sounds too good to be true, it most likely isn't. Like most any business or operation, GSM and IPA had some good, well intentioned folks working for them. Unfortunately when your business model requires deceit, misrepresentation, and fear mongering you will exhaust your client base. It is only surprising to most who experienced these two companies first hand, that they lasted as long as they did.

The age group that experienced the largest increase in the male-female ratio from 1990 to 2000 was likely the senior population, typically age 65 and over. This age group tends to have a higher proportion of females due to longer life expectancy, leading to a larger increase in the male-female ratio as the population ages over the decade.
