Pure gold is 24k, so you can't go higher and have 26k gold.
Gold can be both soft and hard depending on how pure it is, pure gold (24K) is softer than a gold alloy. And the lower the number the harder it is. 10K is harder than 14K, 14K is harder than 18K, and 18K is harder than 24K (pure gold).

Oh, dude, you're asking me to do math? Like, okay, so 24k gold is pure gold, right? And 10k gold is like... not pure gold. So, you'd need more 10k gold to get the same amount of pure gold. It's like, a ratio thing, man. I don't know the exact numbers, but you get the idea, right?
As of the time this answer was written, gold was going for a bit under $40 per gram. 24K gold is pure gold, so 100 milligrams (0.1g) would be worth about $4.

One can tell if something is 24k gold by poking it with a sharp object. Gold is a soft metal, and the higher the karat the softer the metal, therefore if it makes a dent or leaves a mark, then the gold is 24k. Also, 24k gold is much more yellow, so, the color can help to identify 24k gold. And finally, bringing it to a jeweler to get it appraised will help to determine if it is 24k gold.
No. 24k is 'pure' gold.
9k is different from 18k or 24k because 24k is pure gold and 18k and 9k have more metals in them so that helps the become more endurable. but if you want pure metal get 24k

There is NO SUCH thing as 24k ( carat ) white gold. Pure gold is 24k. In that 24 parts out of 24 is pure gold ( 100% gold). 12k would be 50% pure. But why would that matter ??? The other parts mixed in ( alloyed) is what makes gold other than yellow. Higher than 18k the other metals have a HUGE difficulty making gold other than yellow. Even at 14k and 18k gold wants to be yellow

Yes. Pure (24K) gold is very much a solid and very dense metal.
It is important to know how much gold is in jewelry. 24k is 100% pure gold, it means that all parts of it are made of gold.
23k gold is 95.83% pure gold, while 24k gold is 99.99% pure gold. The lower purity of 23k gold makes it harder and more durable, making it more suitable for jewelry that needs to withstand daily wear and tear. However, 24k gold is considered more valuable and is more prone to scratches and dents due to its softer nature.
