When you say mattress that is the top. Boxspring is the bottom. So im guessing you have mattress and boxspring extra long. The answer is yes. A twin extra long mattress will fit a regular twin bed frame. The length is just longer not the width.
yes they will fit in witdth, but not in length
Yes. Extra long only. If they are not extra long they will fit. But the mattress will be to big for the boxsprings.
Different mattress sizes include single, twin, double, queen, king, extended double, extra long twin, regular bunk bed, narrow bunk bed and super king.

Yes. I did it all through freshman year in college. Twin comforters are bigger than the mattress to begin with, and the few extra inches that an extra long twin mattress has won't make that much of a difference.

No. A full mattress is the same as a double. Two extra long singles make a king size bed.
Extra long twin mattresses can be special ordered from most mattress stores and a few large chain stores like Macy's. However, your selection will be very limited if you are not ordering from a mattress store.
You could possibly do this, but your box spring will be about 9" too wide and 5" too short. A queen mattress is 60" x 80". A twin regular mattress is 39" x 75". An extra long twin would be 80" long.
Two extra long twin size mattresses (39" wide x 80" long) placed side-by-side to make a king mattress surface (78" wide x 80" long).
No, a twin box spring is not large enough. It would take 2 extra long twin box springs (80 inches in length, as opposed to a regular twin's length of 75 inches), as a kings size mattress is 80 inches long and 76 inches wide (which is twice the width of two twin box springs). Keep in mind that 76x80 is the measurements of an eastern king size mattress, as a western or "California" king mattress measures 72x84 inches.
