Can parrots eat fish

Yes, they can. Parrots are opportunistic carnivores but are also wide spectrum omnivores, and can actually eat a broader ranges of food than humans (for instance, cellulose for them is a carbohydrate nutrient; for us it's just roughage). Fish, among so may other things, are certainly on the menu.

We have a princess parrot with clowns, puffers, tangs, wrasses and a hog fish of comparable sizes. We had a trigger that would have eaten her, but we removed him from the tank in time. We are not experts, but so far no other problems. Hope this helps.

Parrot Cichlids are a man made species of fish. They are the product of two totally different species of Amazonian cichlid developed in a laboratory. Being tropical in their requirements they should not be kept with Koi carp which are temperate/cold water fish.

Parrot fish should be kept with similar sized, semi aggressive or fast moving fish. Examples would be green severums, tiger barbs, tinfoil barbs, freshwater 'sharks' (tricolor, redtail black, rainbow), larger Australian rainbow fish might work as well.

As long as the fish lays eggs and fish can come and fertilize them... and it works the other way around if some fish lays eggs a parrot fish can fertilize them
