It will heat up some but not as much as under direct sun. You can get a sunburn on a cloudy day because the clouds do not block UV as well as IR however the UV doesn't do much to heat up a pool.

If it is a cloudy day then how you will get solar energy?

Quite simply, you get less solar energy than when it is not cloudy. For example, a solar stove can still heat water, but it will no longer boil.Quite simply, you get less solar energy than when it is not cloudy. Why is no dew formed on a windy day or when sky is cloudy?

Dew forms when the air just above the ground is cooled to its dew point (a temperature at which the water dissolved in the air comes out of the air). The air above the ground is cooled because the ground radiates heat into space. If there are clouds overhead the clouds reflect the heat back to the ground so it does not cool and o dew forms. If it is windy then the air just above the ground keeps on getting mixed with the air higher up and the air does not cooled to the dew point and no dew forms. Thus to form dew you need a still clear night.

Does a above ground Pool cover provide any heating for above ground pool water?

Your regular cover won't heat the pool, it will hold the heat, but it will not heat it up. You need a solar blanket if you are looking for something to warm your pool.

When the ground gets warm it emits an invisible light called infrared light. This light can travel into the atmosphere and heat the air that encounters. What type of heat transferr is described above?

Radiation. However, the heat transfer here isn't exclusively radiation; the warm ground tends to warm the air next to the ground (conduction) and the warm air rises and mixes with the cooler air above (convection). So all three modes of heat transfer are involved. Here's an example of strictly radiative heat transfer. On a cold cloudy night, the warmer ground radiates heat to the cooler clouds, but the temperature difference is only a few tens of degrees, so not much heat is transferred. On a cold CLEAR night, the heat from the warm ground is radiated to deep space, with a temperature close to absolute zero, a difference of 400+ degrees. So it gets a lot colder on clear night than it does on a cloudy night!

Does a solar blanket work when cloudy?

Solar blankets are less effective on cloudy days as they rely on direct sunlight to heat the pool water. However, they can still retain some heat and reduce evaporation even on overcast days. It's best to remove the blanket during cloudy periods to allow more sunlight to reach the water when possible.

How can solar heat system heat your house on a cloudy day?

there is always light coming from the sun, thus bringing forth heat. even though there are clouds, the light travels through clouds, bringing you heat.i cant believe you didnt already know this:)

Dress Up Your Above-Ground Pool with a Wooden Deck?

Perhaps you can not afford to have an in-ground pool built in your backyard. You can still cool off in the summer heat by buying an above-ground pool. Adding a wooden deck around the above-ground pool will greatly enhance the appearance of the pool. Not only will your pool and overall property look better, but a wooden deck also makes it easier to get in and out of the pool. It will cost a little more for an above ground pool with a wooden deck, but it is well worth the extra expense.
